The bachelor work is focused on the issue of activation and active lives of seniors within the purview of the seniors club. One of the possibilities is the activation of seniors within the purview of the club. These activities offer the seniors keeping and improving their abilities and skills. The activities should be accessible, they should catch the interest of as many seniors as possible and at the same time reflect their needs and aptitudes. The theoretical part deals with old age and ageing and their changes, the characteristics of social work with seniors, it further describes selected techniques of activation which are used within the purview of the club. A characteristics of the Staroměstská club in České Budějovice follows, the club where the research has been realized. The practical part is oriented to finding out possible activation in the seniors clubs. The main method of getting such information were questionnaires. Based on them, the hypotheses have been verified. The advantages of activating activities were obvious in more aspects. Leisure Time Activities in the Master Křišťan of Prachatice Seniors´Home
BENEŠOVÁ, Ludmila
Baccalaureate work is focused on the offer of leisure time activities of senior citizens living in the Master Křišťan Seniors´ Home based in Prachatice. The theoretical section of my baccalaureate work is divided into three basic topics. The first section deals with old age and aging in general, the second is focused on senior citizens living in institutions and the third is concerned with the choice of leisure time activities available to the aged. The objective of my baccalaureate work it to map the range of leisure time activities offered to the inmates of the Master Křišťan Seniors´ Home based in Prachatice and to find out how the inmates of the said home for the aged are satisfied with their current choice of leisure time activities. In connection with the above mentioned objective a hypothesis has been set up, i. e. that the senior citizens living in the Master Křišťan of Prachatice Seniors´ Home are satisfied with the range of their current leisure time activities offered. Quantitative research, namely questionnaire and controlled interview with the inmates, has been applied to verify the hypothesis as above. An evaluation of the research results has proved the hypothesis. The research has shown that a majority of the respondents consider their leisure time activities offered by the Master Křišťan of Prachatice Seniors´ Home acceptable and satisfying and that the choice of leisure time activities is sufficient. Some inmates have stated that they miss gardening. Accordingly, I would recommend granting the senior inmates the chance to work in the garden in compliance with their individual health condition. Further, I would recommend training full-time members of the seniors´ home staff specialized in creating and implementing leisure time activities for the inmates.
The Seniors´ Leisure Time Using in Old People´s Homes after the Legislation Change
KROUPOVÁ, Jitka
Ageing population becomes a world-wide problem of the 21st century. The old age represents changes in physical, psychical and social sphere. The image of {\clqq}successful`` ageing is based mainly on the improvement of life quality and adaptation to old age. Special attention is paid to keeping an active lifestyle, even at an old age. The way of spending free time significantly affects both the mental and the physical state of the seniors. Leisure time of the seniors can be filled up with their private activities or with the activities offered in the homes for seniors. The new Act on Social Services, effective since January 2007, regulates mainly the overall conception and conditions for providing social services. Among other affected subjects, the changes stated in the Act also apply to the homes for seniors, their users and providers. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the problems related to ageing and old age, with special focus on seniors´ free time and their leisure activities. I attempted to tackle the problems from the point of view of the Act on Social Services. The research aim was to find out if the changes related to new legislation influenced leisure activities in the homes for seniors. Reaching this aim was facilitated by the hypothesis saying that the legislation changes (Act no. 108/2006 of the Law Code) did not influence the way of spending free time among the clients in the homes for seniors. To elaborate the practical part I applied quantitative survey based on the technique of controlled interviews with seniors in chosen homes for seniors. As an auxiliary method I applied document analysis, namely the technique of the secondary analysis of data. Controlled interviews were conditioned by the fact that the seniors were clients of the given home, their cognitive functions were not impaired and they were willing to provide the answers. The interviews were anonymous and contained 21 questions each. The research showed that the respondents did not mention any obvious changes in spending their free time which could be related to new legislation, and similarly they did not observe changes in leisure activities provided by the home for seniors. I assume that the initial hypothesis was proved by the research. In my opinion the bachelor thesis could provide the broad public with information on the ways of spending leisure time among the clients in the homes for seniors.
